Mr. Jim Watson, the new mayor of Canada's capital has met last month at his office,  H.E.  Smail Benamara, Ambassador of Algeria in Canada.

During this meeting, Mr. Watson expressed satisfaction about the excellent cooperation between the Chancery and the City Hall as part of the “Doors Open” event in which our embassy has been involved for seven years, opening its doors to the Canadian public every first Saturday of June.

Mr. Watson expressed his openness to establish future cooperation between the two capitals Algiers and Ottawa.  He said he instructed his services to conduct an evaluation of the twinning agreements already signed and that from this autumn; we could plan exchange of visits and programs within this framework.
