Despite repeated firm denials by the Algerian authorities, Mr. Mustapha Abdeljalil (Chairman of the Libyan National Transitional Council) has decided to overrule the denial that he had himself made over these outlandish accusations, in his interview with an Algerian newspaper dated March 5th, 2011 - and singularize by unfairly involve Algeria in an alleged sponsorship of mercenary operations in Libya.
This irresponsible fierceness to involve at all costs the Algerian authorities make us wondering about the motivations of those behind this conspiracy against a country which mistake is to refuse to interfere in the Libya’s domestic affairs, to deplore the disproportionate use of force and to warn against the deadly dangers of terrorist infiltration of troops on the territory of Libya.
This infiltration of terrorist elements is unfortunately corroborated by objectives facts and findings set by senior civilian and military officials, by some permanent members of the Security Council and by the independent analysis made by Western experts specialized in intelligence.
In view of its fundamental interests related to the maximum security of its borders and preserve stability throughout the region, Algeria draws again the international community attention about the dangers of the presence in its borders, of an incubator of terrorism that would draw in profusion, in an open-sky arsenal.
Furthermore, strong with its convictions about the primacy of seeking a political solution through dialogue and its attachment to ancestral and friendship ties that bind the Algerian and the Libyan people in all its aspects and all its sensibilities, Algeria will continue to favor the path of reason, urging all parties to an immediate stop of hostilities to preserve the unity and territorial integrity of this brother country to face serious risks of dislocation and the partition.
