Cooperation project in the maritime field |
A cooperation project in the maritime security field including an important training program will be shortly signed between Algeria and Canada. As part of Algeria – Canada maritime cooperation, this project will be financed by the Canadian government with the amount of $ 270 000. The project will be supervised by the Maritime Institute of Québec (MIC) from the Canadian side and by the Ministry of Transportation and the Bou-Ismail Maritime Higher Institute (ISM) from the Algerian side. The project aims at: - Strengthening maritime capabilities and particularly in terms of security of ports and vessels; - Maritime security transportation and management of risks related to this field; - Holding of training classes on maritime emergency measures at the Bou-Ismail ISM, starting from January 2009.
