Communiqué for the Algerian community of the Greater Region of Toronto

Like the operation performed in 2007, the Consular Section of the Embassy of Algeria in Ottawa is planning to move to Toronto, on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th February, 2010, in order to get close to members of our community and provide them with consular services on the spot.

A mobile office will be open on Saturday, February 27th, 2010, and the morning of Sunday, February 28th, 2010, for the purpose of issuing on the spot, a number of administrative documents for those registered citizens.

This operation will allow the renewal or extension of the Consular card, identity cards and passports; and the issuance or legalization of documents such as proxy, parental authorization etc ...

To ensure broad success for this operation, the Algerian nationals of Greater Toronto (Mississauga, Oshawa, London, Niagara Falls, Hamilton, St. Catherine ... etc.) are advised to check the expiry dates of their documents in order to prepare their files, if the deadline would fall during the 1st half of 2010.

In this connection, you should be aware that the passports that would be renewed will be valid for 5 years, despite the forthcoming implementation of biometric passport (normally from April 2010).

Finally, the Embassy wishes to remind that the price of fiscal stamps for the documents issued by the Consular Service has substantially declined and details of which are available on the Embassy’s website.

Those of you who want to take advantage of this operation are requested to send an email to : Toronto@embassyalgeria.ca, indicating the nature of the desired documents.

The exact location and schedule of mobile office in Toronto, will be available soon.
